Piano lessons resume on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012.  I hope you all had a restful winter break and will come prepared to begin a new semester of music and fun.

A big "Hooray!" goes to Ian Skrine who played piano twice while his brother sang at their church this holiday season!!  Good for you, Ian!!!!

Isabel Shinn played twice this past fall during Sunday services at the Arvada United Methodist Church.  She did an exceptional job!

As we begin our second semester, I would like to reaquaint you with the high school student assistants who will be assisting me in some of the younger classes:

Brennan Mayhak, high school senior, has been assisting in our piano studio for several years.  He is currently attending Red Rocks Community College and has been accepted to attend the Colorado School of Mines in the fall.  Brennan has been studying piano with me for 9 years and is an extremely accomplished piano student.  Brennan strives to practice daily!  Brennan helps with Friday classes.

Maria Mayhak is a home school sophomore and has also been assisting in our piano studio for several years.  She has played the piano with me for 9 years and, like her brother, is quite accomplished. Marie has made it a habit to practice daily - and it shows!  Maria works on Thursday afternoons.

Rachel Broooks is a Ralston Valley High School senior.  This is Rachel's second year assisting in our studio and I must say, is a "born teacher" (which is exactlly what she wants to do!)  Rachel's students have made a dramatic improvement under her tuteledge!  She assists on Tuesday afternoons.

Troy Johnson, a Ralston Valley sophomore, has been studying with me for 5 years.  He also plays the violin and is very active in his school and community orchestra.  Troy is another excellent teacher!  He assists on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Kara Acosta, a Arvada West sophomore, is a new assistant this year, although she has played in our studio for 9 years.  Her second instrument is cello.  Kara works on Mondays.

As we begin this semester, I will begin planning solo and ensemble music for our year end recital.  Please remember, recitals are optional.  Please let me know as soon as possible if your student will not be participating in the recital, or if they opt to play ensemble music only.

Check out the calendar on the calendar page of this website, which shows tentative recital dates and other important dates.
